SC Football Academy is an integral part of the Sporting Chances Group (SCG), dedicated to providing 16 to 18 year olds, of any gender, unparalleled opportunities in the world of football, paving the path towards promising careers in the sport.
The academy is committed to nurturing talent and fostering a conducive environment, where aspiring football enthusiasts can thrive. Our comprehensive programme offers a range of invaluable experiences including; exposure to agents and scouts, Level 1 & 2 coaching (with a focus on FA playmaker techniques), and multiple pathways within football, to kick-start your career in the football industry.

Being a Professional Footballer is the dream job for many but there are numerous other football courses to choose from. Careers within football span many areas and provide opportunities for all.
Course Pathways
Scouting Qualification
Develop the skills of Talent Identification across men and women’s football. This is a great opportunity for young people to become professional scouts.
Football Academy Referee
Complete a basic referee training course comprised of learning on the laws of the game online, followed by face-to-face training.
Coaching Qualifications
Become a Level 1 and 2 Certified Football Coach and learn how to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of linked and progressive football coaching sessions independently.

Senior Coach Gwynne Berry is an ex-footballer with over 30 years' experience as a professional football coach.
Our Coaches
We are a small team of dedicated and highly-qualified coaches and teachers including; 2 Senior Coaches, 1 Junior Coach and 1 qualified teacher (QTS).
Mode of Study
The SC Football Academy apprenticeship is a full time course that runs for 2 academic years. In addition, students are expected to undertake 12 weeks of work across SCG holiday camps, for apprentice pay.
Timetable
The academy operates 5 days a week, providing a structured and intensive training regime.

Aligned to college term dates.

Admissions & Entry Requirements
Applications for 2024/26 enrolment are now being accepted. Fill out an enquiry form to get your application started. You will receive an email from us containing the application form portal where you can complete and submit your application. You will be required to include a personal statement explaining why it is you want to attend the SC Football Academy. There are limited spaces available, so it is advised to submit your application as early as you can.
We select and enrol 15 students per location, ensuring personalised attention and development opportunities.
There are no requirements of experience or qualifications to apply to for this apprenticeship. You must be aged 16 to 18 years old and have a passion for sport and football.
