The birth of Sporting Chances!
Before becoming an alternative provision, Sporting Chances was an outreach programme, tackling non-school attenders by visiting their house and encouraging self-care improvement; clearing and tidying out their rooms, encouraging daily routine, hair-cut's and general well-being. At Sporting Chances we are aware that no two people are the same and our outreach programme was brought back specifically for this reason; our skilled youth mentors work on a 1-1 basis in the local community encouraging young people to gain both life and job-specific skills. Through nurturing their interests, we remind young people that their passion can become their work. And allow them the space to explore and develop their voice, character, values, beliefs and ideas. Our inclusive and encouraging team engage our youths through activities such as attending the gym, boxing, go karting, air hop, recording in music studios, bowling and also familiarise them with everyday activities such as taking public transport, filling out health forms and budgeting.
