FA Coaching Level 1

The Level 1 coaching badge is the starting point for the vast majority of coaches and as such is by far the most popular course in the UK with literally hundreds of courses offered each year through local county FA's. The objectives of Level 1 are to give new coaches a basic introduction to the concepts of planning, organising and delivering safe coaching sessions.

Level 2

The FA Level 2 Coaching Course is suitable for coaches with one or two season's experience who would like to formalize and develop their skills or experienced players looking to make the transition into coaching. Although Level 2 is similar to Level 1 in that it's an open entry course designed to be a starting point for all further stages on the FA Coaching Pathway, it is generally recommend that Level 1 be completed first by coaches lacking on pitch experience in order to get the most out of Level 2. We'd encourage prospective candidates with some experience to talk directly with the course provider to discuss whether they should start at Level 1 or Level 2.
